Mission Statement
The Audubon Everglades Photography Group welcomes all levels of nature photography enthusiasts seeking to enhance their skills while promoting conservation and the responsible observation and documentation of nature, wildlife, and their habitats through the enjoyment of photography.
Vision
Nature photography enthusiasts develop the observational, technical, and artistic skills to portray wildlife and the environment in a way that inspires the conservation of nature for current and future generations.
Goals
- Inspire
- Encourage enjoyment of nature from a different view
- Promote awareness of wildlife, particularly birds, and their habitats
- Foster understanding of the interdependence of wildlife and habitat through intentional observation and imaging through photography
- Educate
- Encourage development and enhancement of visual and technical skills in nature photography for all levels of photographers
- Promote ethical behavior in the pursuit of nature photography
- Foster understanding of the relationship between photographer, equipment, and post-processing
- Conserve
- Encourage individuals who are passionate about nature photography to use their talent to support nature conservation
- Promote capturing images of nature that represent the relationship between wildlife and their environment
- Foster understanding of photography’s ability to inspire others to join in conserving nature
Objectives
- Inspire through Programs and Field Trips (Virtual & In-Person, as situation dictates)
- Educate through Presentations and Critiques of member’s photos (Virtual & In-Person)
- Conserve Nature through opportunities to illustrate a message with intentional compelling photography
