The Audubon Everglades Photography Group (AEPG) meetings are on the SECOND Thursday of each month. Calendar entries are updated to reflect the upcoming events. Any subsequent changes will be posted on this calendar and announced to members by email. As programs are held and recorded, videos are linked to the calendar program date in case members missed the meeting or want to review in more detail.
This section contains the list of all scheduled AEPG events: programs, critique sessions, field trips, workshops, and photo shares.
Unless indicated otherwise, all programs, critique sessions, workshops, and photo share sessions will be held remotely using ZOOM. Members may log onto the ZOOM session from 6:45pm through 7:00pm for “social time” before the program begins. Field trips will be held when opportunities are identified.

Workshop: How Developing Birding Skills Will Improve your Bird Photography
Presenter: Joel Such (Video)
Becoming a masterful bird photographer requires much more than just an understanding of light, composition, and camera settings. Though these three aspects are incredibly important as a bird photographer, the addition of birding and general field skills will enable you to leverage your photographic knowledge to its maximum. In this presentation, we dive into how you can improve your bird photography by learning bird vocalizations, training your eyes to detect movement, understanding habitat associations and behavior, researching your subjects’ life histories, and recognizing environmental clues. Between the artistic and focused mindset of a bird photographer and the field skills of a birder, one can develop a significant advantage in taking stunning photos of a diverse array of bird species. Whether you started out as a birder before pursuing bird photography, or vice versa, this presentation will provide useful tips for how to merge the best of these two mindsets.
